8 Fun Facts About Groove Cruise
Groove Cruise is 21 years old
Our first cruise set sail in 2004 with only 125 attendees on a regular cruise vacation. Founder Jason Beukema built GC on credit card debt, and it took him 7 years before he could charter an entire cruise ship. Since then, we’ve chartered over 20 cruise ships and have won the charter partner of the year for both Carnival and Norwegian Cruise Lines.
The party is non-stop and there’s music everywhere
It’s really non-stop for 96 hours! From sunrise to sunset, from trance to techno, you can hear all kinds of dance music at all hours of the day.
It’s not just parties!
Besides the DJ sets, we also have a full schedule of activities and events. You'll never be bored on board! Past activities have included scavenger hunts, drag shows, and mental health workshops.
And on top of that, there are over 40 artist-hosted activities, dinners, and excursions. Some highlights from last year’s voyage were a wine tasting with Markus Schulz and a Hot Ones Challenge with Trivecta!
Each trip includes a visit to a private destination
While on land, you can attend our private beach party, join in on an adventure activity, or just relax in a cabana and enjoy the view!
We give back
We partner with charitable organizations to give back to the communities in the destinations we visit. Aside from fundraising events and donations, we’ve also taken part in activities like food donations, art and music activities with local children, beach cleanups, and much more.

Our community is everything
Honestly, we’d be nothing without our Captains (every GC attendee is a “captain.”) Our incredible community has the most beautiful vibes and the biggest hearts. Even if it’s your first voyage with us or if you’re traveling solo, you’ll feel welcome from the moment you step on board.
There’s a diverse group of attendees, of all ages and from all around the world, spreading good vibes and having fun. You'll meet so many interesting people and probably even leave with a few little gifts and new friends!
Stages are all over
There are usually about 10 and each has a different vibe. We turn anything we can into a stage, and you can find them in the most random places. Over the years, we’ve transformed theaters, restaurants, and even casinos into stages!
There are 2 daily themes
Each day and night has a theme, so 8 in total. You don’t have to dress up if you don’t want to, but we definitely recommend it!
